My journey to motherhood

Looking back at my camera roll, I just realised past three years have flown by. From the day I found out I was having a baby, to having her in my lap and then walking beside me. She is my travel, shopping and dining partner most days. My pregnancy flew by, I was working up until 38th week hopping on and off the central line. We were all set for her, from my hospital suitcase to her shopping. I kept dreaming of the day, I would hold her.

Labour, however, was a completely different story. Two weeks late, 36 hours of labor, and weighing in at only 3.578kg. People say the pain is worth it. I still don’t agree to that but it is amazing to hold your creation. No one can feel the mother’s love until you hold your child.

Every day, I am amazed by her. They see the world in very black and white, and her inquisitive nature to understand how and why everything works the way it does. Today, I am honoured to be a mother, she has taught me to love unconditionally.

She has also taught me how patient I can be… I fight a constant battle on #ootd for her, getting her into the car seat, and bedtime. With all this, she always compliments me when I dress up. She knows when I am upset. She kisses me when I am hurt (she still doesn’t know about panadol lol) but it’s amazing to have another little you look out for you. She even made my sister tolerant of kids.

Kudos to all the mommies out there..
